In Egypt, begins construction of the country's first WiMax network. To deploy a wireless infrastructure at the national level, was selected equipment from American companies Aperto Networks. The network will be used not only for commercial purposes for the organization of connections between the offices of companies across the country, but also to provide communications between police stations.
In the first phase the network will connect the larger towns of Egypt. In the second, the realization of which will occur over the next year, WiMax- access will be covered by even the small towns and villages in rural and remote areas. It is assumed that the network will transmit not only the usual streams of data, but also voice and video streams for video conferencing.
